JT Back to Dolphins and Bradshaw Back with Giants

Posted by Brad On August – 1 – 2011

Jason Taylor took a one year hiatus from South Beach and now he will be taking his talents back.  Taylor announced his “welcome back party” to the world on his Facebook Jason Taylor Foundation page.

Jason Taylor had a solid season in New York and proved he is still capable of making an impact just not on an everydown basis.  He will add solid depth to the Miami linebacking corps and could take some of the focus off Cameron Wake on third down.

In a story of the grass is not always greener, Ahmad Bradshaw gauged his value on the open market and apparantly didn’t like the results.

The New York Giants have agreed to a 4-year deal with Bradshaw.  This is a good deal for both sides as Bradshaw will see plenty of touches and New York won’t be faced with the possibility of starting Brandon Jacobs or Danny Ware.  The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Channing Crowder Out; Kevin Burnett In

Posted by Brad On July – 29 – 2011

"Kevin Burnett signs with the Dolphins"Prior to 2010, Kevin Burnett started nine games in five seasons.  The 2010 season just made Kevin Burnett a rich man.

The Miami Dolphins have agreed to a 4-year deal that includes $10 million guaranteed.  The Dolphins cut Channing Crowder earlier in the day on Friday much to the surprise of most.  It appears they had Kevin Burnett as their backup plan.

Burnett came into his own in 2010 when he logged 16 starts and amassed 95 tackles, 6 sacks, and 2 INT’s.  Burnett has had nagging injuries throughout his career which probably kept the Chargers from offering a long-term contract to the 28 year old LB.

It’s going to be a very busy day for Miami’s front office.

The Saints have agreed to terms to send Reggie Bush to Miami.  Also, reports are suggesting a Kyle Orton to Miami deal is awaiting the renegotiation of Kyle Orton’s contract.

:Reggie Bush to the Dolphins"Reggie Bush is due to make a base salary of $11.8 million in 2011 and this deal is pending that number being re-structured.  The terms of the agreement have yet to be released.

Bush’s career has not lived up to the enormous expectations coming out of USC.  Five seasons into the 26-year old RB’s career he has 2,090 yards rushing and 17 rushing TD’s.  He has also caught 294 passes for 2,142 yards and 12 TD’s.  Hardly what was expected from the uber-talented back that wowed at USC with his Matrix-like abilities to avoid tackles and break big runs.

If/when this contract is worked out and terms of the deal have been released we will bring them to you for analysis of the trade.

UPDATE:  The deal has been consummated with Reggie Bush agreeing to a new two-year contract.
