17. San Diego Chargers – Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
Andrus Peat would be intriguing here but I think they need to find a playmaker in the backfield to help out Philip Rivers.
18. Kansas City Chiefs – Cameron Erving, OL, FSU
Andy Reid and Co. going with a big man in some form or facet. Erving gives them a guy that could fill in at multiple spots in a pinch. Probably starts at center but they may take a look at him out at RT.
19. Cleveland Browns – Breshad Perriman, WR, UCF
I’m hoping for Phillip Dorsett but it’s going to be tough to pass on Perriman if he’s still around at No. 19.
20. Philadelphia Eagles – Damarious Randall, S, Arizona State
Did anyone see Marcus Smith coming? Not many so this shouldn’t surprise – particularly after he’s been mocked here by some of the big draft pundits.
21. Cincinnati Bengals – Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
Bengals rumored to be in on tackles Jake Fisher and Cedric Ogbuehi. I think those rumors were assuming Andrus Peat wouldn’t be around when they picked.
22. Pittsburgh Steelers – Landon Collins, S, Alabama
I think the Steelers like their options at safety but they may be a team that loves Collins.
23. Detroit Lions – Malcom Brown, DT, Texas
If Brown is on the board, I’d be surprised if he’s not the pick. One caveat could be Melvin Gordon.
24. Arizona Cardinals – Arik Armstead, DE, Oregon
Pairing Calais Campbell with Calais Campbell 2.0. Nice bookends if Armstead lives up to his potential.
25. Carolina Panthers – Byron Jones, CB, Connecticut
Conventional wisdom has OT here but Dave Gettleman is going to take his highest rated player – that could be Jones if he makes his way down here.
26. Baltimore Ravens – Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
I don’t know how the Ravens could pass on Peters if he’s on the board for their taking.
27. Dallas Cowboys – Shane Ray, DE, Missouri
Between the foot and marijuana citation Ray drops down into Dallas’ lap. I’m 90% confident that Jerry Jones overlooks the issues for this JYD.
28. Denver Broncos – D.J. Humphries, OT, Florida
Humphries could wind up a steal for the Broncos. He’s a pure LT prospect that fits Gary Kubiak’s scheme perfectly but will have to find a way to successfully transition to the right side. Not as easy of a transition as some would have you believe.
29. Indianapolis Colts – Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
Goldman is the run stuffer that Pagano needs in the middle of his defense. He’s a significant upgrade over any nose on their roster, so he’s my logical fit.
30. Green Bay Packers – Eric Rowe, CB, Utah
The ILB’s are getting some love here. I don’t see it. I think they wait until the 2nd and grab Rowe at this spot.
31. New Orleans Saints – Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami
If Dorsett is on the board at 31, I expect the Saints to tab him as their pick.
32. New England Patriots – Cedric Ogbuehi, OL, Texas A&M
I have no clue so why not Ogbuehi. He could slide inside for the Pats but I’m clueless on this pick.
