50. Miami Dolphins – Cyrus Kouandijo, OT, Alabama
Rumor has the Dolphins taking Kouandijo at No. 19. I don’t see that happening, but they would have to be ecstatic if he fell to them at 50.
51. Chicago Bears – Deone Bucannon, S, Washington St.
The Bears go back to back in their secondary – wisely. Bucannon is one of my personal favorite prospects in this draft and fills a major need area for the Bears. He should be an instant impact starter on this squad.
52. Arizona Cardinals – Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech
Jeremiah Attaochu is a guy I’m afraid I missed on. I had written him off after a couple of just mediocre games. I went back for a watch on him over the weekend and think he won’t make it far in the second round. This may be way too low for him but if he’s there for the Cards, it’s a steal.
53. Green Bay Packers – Kyle Van Noy, LB, BYU
Van Noy is being viewed as a guy that could make the switch to the inside at the next level. Green Bay could use a significant upgrade at the ILB position, so they pass on available safety options.
54. Philadelphia Eagles – Marcus Smith, OLB, Louisville
Smith may not have the length that Chip seeks but he’s a heat seeking missile going after QB’s. With his burst and bend he should be an immediate difference maker on passing downs.
55. Cincinnati Bengals – Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon St.
What a great value find for the Bengals. Crichton is a guy that I couldn’t find a spot for but I expect to go much earlier than 55. This could be a dream scenario for the Bengals.
56. San Francisco 49ers – Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame
With all the picks, the Niners would be wise to look hard at the value of each selection. Tuitt was considered a first round prospect in the preseason but fell back to earth and probably where most in the league had him slotted throughout the process. That said, he’s a great value that could be the succession plan for Justin Smith.
57. San Diego Chargers – Weston Richburg, C, Colorado St.
Nick Hardwick isn’t getting any younger. Richburg could slide over to a guard spot for a year or so while Hardwick plays out his final days in SD.
58. New Orleans Saints – Dri Archer, RB/WR/OW, Kent St.
Darren Sproles was a huge part of the Saints offense. With Sproles off the Philly, Archer can fill that role from day one. The Saints have bigger needs but this fit is one that I love.
59. Indianapolis Colts – Marcus Martin, C/G, USC
The Colts need an upgrade or two on the interior of their offensive line. Martin’s versatility to play guard or center could unseat one of those question marks.
60. Carolina Panthers – Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida St.
Not a bad start for the Panthers. Getting a protector for Cam with their first round pick was solid but getting Benjamin could pay some huge dividends if he fills in some of the holes in his game (i.e. catches the ball consistently).
61. San Francisco 49ers – Carl Bradford, LB, Arizona St.
The Aldon Smith saga looms large over the Niners. Drafting a LB that can help fill those large on the field shoes will be high priority for San Fran brass. The bonus with Bradford is he’s versatile enough to play inside or outside in the Niners scheme. With Navorro Bowman’s injury they could be forced to play Bradford inside early in the season.
62. New England Patriots – Terrance West, RB, Towson
LeGarrette Blount was let go without a fight from the Patriots despite having some solid numbers last season. I believe Bill looked at this draft and said there are plenty of replacements to be had. West is a guy that I think could have the biggest impact early on despite being a small school prospect.
63. Denver Broncos – Dominique Easley, DT, Florida
Pure value pick here. Easley is a first round talent with some concerns about his health lingering it will probably push him down to the mid-to-late second round range.
64. Seattle Seahawks – Bruce Ellington, WR, South Carolina
The Seahawks load up on weapons for Russell Wilson to grow with. ASJ in the first and Ellington in the second will ensure Russ is comfortable for many years to come. Ellington could be Golden Tate’s equivalent after the catch…special player.
