It was an eventful week of pro days which included Star Lotulelei participating after a heart condition kept him out of February’s NFL Scouting Combine.
Everyone remembers the tip of the week from last week and courtesy of the RosterWatch team: Buy before the pro day as a good performance will boost the stock. Hopefully you heeded our advice last week and bought in on some Star stock.
As we know, that’s not the only indicator to success in the game but its proven to be a pretty solid bet. This week bulls will feature a few guys who’s stock is currently trading down but we don’t expect it to stay that way. While the bears are comprised of a couple of guys trending north that we think will be heading for a downturn in the near future.
Each week, we throw out the disclaimer that if you aren’t involved in our league, you should be. This week is no different. This game is addictive as I get emails daily from players on updates to the league. Most important to remember is that the winner gets a 2013 NFL Game Rewind subscription. Sign up here for free.
Da Bulls
Bulls of the week: Zach Ertz, Blidi Wreh-Wilson, Barkevious Mingo
Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford
Zach Ertz’s stock has plummeted over the course of the last month (-28.4%) and is currently sitting as the 49th overall prospect. No doubt his stock fell due to a poor Combine 40 time but the reality is that he’s a top 40 player in this draft. I would wait a couple more days to see if he falls and pick him up with his stock completely in the tank.
Blidi Wreh-Wilson, CB, Connecticut
Wilson was a guy that took a major jump following the Combine but has since plummeted. There’s no real explanation other than he’s become a forgotten man. Connecticut’s pro day is this week and there will be some buzz that should follow. I would recommend picking up Wilson in your portfolio soon as he will be on the upturn fairly quickly.
Barkevious Mingo, DE, LSU
Mingo’s Play the Draft stock is as risky as his real life draft stock. That said, if there were ever a time to pick him up it would be now. Mingo’s stock has slid to an all-time low and he has a pro day this week. I would wait this one out until Monday or Tuesday and pick him up. Again, this is high risk, reward trading. Be prepared to dump him as quick as you bought him. Owning Mingo stock turns you into a day trader with less ‘real’ work productivity.
