2014 NFL Mock Draft

Final 2013 NFL Draft Top 300 Prospects

Posted by Brad On April - 16 - 2013

"NFL Draft"

It’s always a bittersweet time of the year when the 2013 NFL Draft begins to come to a close and we take stock on the 2014 draft. A ton of work goes into what amounts to our top 300 prospects in the draft. After all the mock draft and pointless banter it all really comes down to this. As an evaluator, all you want is for these rankings to take shape over the course of time. For every right ranking (Russell Wilson) there are many more that don’t work out as anticipated (Blaine Gabbert).

This year has been an exercise in patience as the evaluation process only began taking shape in January, a month later than previous years. But the outcome was a better product with more intensive analysis than any previous season. As we go, we perfect the process, and its a process.

After the break we reveal our top 300 prospects for the 2013 NFL Draft.

great brad. The most reliable list on the net. One name, unless i missed it, is anthony McCloud of FSU….who i actually like quite a bit as a late round DT.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Scott-Zinn/100002847635944 Scott Zinn

Wait how can you have Geno Smith ranked higher the Star Lotulelei?

    • Brad

For me, Star has some holes in his game. Both are good prospects. I’m not national media rip Geno guy. I think he’s a solid QB and I value the QB position far more than DT. For my rankings, I take my overall player grade and add in positional grade to formulate my rankings.

    • a57se

      Because he is an idiot….

      • Uptown Murf

He’s an idiot because of an opinion? lol – I laugh at ppl like you. Every year around draft time – you guys come out and degrade opinions based off what you hear others say. When 99% of the ppl never even heard of Star Lotulelei before the season ended. Listen this is all a guessing game. Go back and look at the mock drafts from last season and see how many people nailed it. Go look at Mike Mayocks from last season – he was dead wrong on most of the picks in the first round.

Nobody truly knows what these teams will do and how they rate the players competitively. If Geno ends up going in the top 5 and Star drops to the middle of the first – does that make the OP a genius? Nope. Means that he had a right opinion. Don’t get all bent out of shape about another man’s opinion on something that’s an inexact science bro.

These draft pundits have agenda’s that they perpetuate. Mayock has been singing the praises of Dee Milliner since the season ended – now today on his conference call he says that he’s not worthy of a top 10 selection and that D.J. Hayden from Houston is now his top rated corner. These dudes change like diapers. So chill out with the name calling…

        • a57se

“Don’t get all bent out of shape about another man’s opinion on something that’s an inexact science bro.”

Isn’t that just what you did?

I was being sarcastic in my original comment, FWIW.

          • Uptown Murf

Not at all. I explained it out to be a guessing game at best. I didn’t have to insult you or anything. For all I know – you could be right about anything you say, or wrong about all of it. It’s just an educated guess..
Mayock’s sections are provided below, with pick-by-pick analysis coming on NFL Network.

            1. Indianapolis Colts – Andrew Luck (Stanford, QB)
            2. Washington Redskins – Robert Griffin III (Baylor, QB)

            31. New England Patriots – Harrison Smith (Notre Dame, FS)
            32. New York Giants – Jonathan Martin (Stanford, OT)

You wanna call Mayock an idiot? He was way off! He was just guessing like all of us..

          • a57se

Some of the smartest people I have ever known have said or done things that were idiotic………
As an example, you are comparing a mock draft by Mayock to a player ranking here. They are two different animals.

          • Uptown Murf

Uhh no – if you see where his top players were ranked and where they were selected this would look even worse..Think outside the box bro.

And this is a continuation from that other post I got on you in – must I fuse the two posts so you can see how relevant my reply is??

          • Uptown Murf

            41. Bruce Irvin, DE, West Virginia
            55. Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama
            57. A.J. Jenkins, WR, Illinois
            88. Bernard Pierce, RB, Temple
            98. Bobby Wagner, OLB, Utah State
            99. Robert Turbin, RB, Utah State

This is just a few of his player rankings that were way off – Janoris Jenkins the 55th best rookie? More like 5th…But hey – it’s just guessing man.

          • a57se

It has been one year since the draft, it is way too early to judge who was or wasn’t ranked properly…..
I do get your point and pretty much agree with you…..I just don’t think Geno Smith is better then a lot of the guys he has ranked lower.

          • Uptown Murf

Yeah I feel ya. I was on Geno before the national media was on him as I like WVU football (among others). I was on the record before any of the pundits on saying I believe he could be the first predominately pocket based black QB to be drafted in the 1st since Jason Campbell. It seems that he will make me look like a genius…But I’m not so sure he should be a top 10 pick. Hopefully he goes to the right coaching staff.

          • bradc11

Two things I know: I finished ahead or tied with Mayock, Kiper, McShay, and a whole slew of other national talking draft heads in every year that I’ve competed in for Huddle Report’s top 100 and mock draft challenges. I’ve been very right and very wrong about players but since it’s my site, I get the luxury of throwing it out there and you have the choice to read or not. I would suggest you stop reading if you think the content is idiotic.

          • a57se

I commented on one small facet of the content….I think you are over reacting.

    • bradc11

It’s fairly simple. I happen to think that Geno Smith is the better overall player. I’m not the slam Geno media guy. I like his game and think it translates to the next level very well. He plays a premium position and I don’t see all the holes that others see with him. I was getting bashed last year for ranking Russell Wilson tenth overall…that worked out well. I was getting praised for ranking Blaine Gabbert 5th overall in 2011…that didn’t work out so well. Win some, you lose some. I’m betting I win on this one but we won’t know for quite a while.
