C.J. Mosley returning to Alabama in 2013

Posted by Brad On December - 20 - 2012

To my utter shock, Nick Saban announced today that linebacker C.J. Mosley will be returning to Alabama for his senior season. Mosley was considered to be one of top linebackers in the country and likely first round pick had he entered the draft.

Kudos to Nick Saban who has done an excellent job of keeping his guys in school for four years and maximizing Alabama’s ability to continue their domination of college football.

Mosley finished the 2012 regular season with 99 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks in his first season as a full time starter. Mosley figures to be in the running for a top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

How many National Championships do you want to win? No upside to staying unless he wants to be the 1st Linebacker chosen and with Te’o gone he might be. That said he is a top 25 pick and is risking injury. If you have gone to 1-3 National Championship games there is no point in returning. Wish him a healthy Senior Season…..Sabin is a tool

I’m usually not a fan of saying it was the wrong move but I scratched my head a little on this one. He was a lock to go in the top 25 and that probably can be said for next year to. I don’t see what he gains from going back. You know, that education is overrated.

Education can always be finished at a later time. Whole point to going to school is to obtain financial stability…being a top 25 pick is that. I dont see him improving his draft position much if at all. Like I said I understand if you want to return to win it all (ala Barkley) but he already has 1 or 2.
