Montana cornerback Trumaine Johnson was arrested for obstructing a peace officer, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest follwing Saturday’s matchup with Northern Arizona.
Johnson is considered one of the top small school prospects in the 2012 NFL Draft. At 6’2″ 205, Johnson has a rare blend of size and athleticism. Johnson is widely considered a sleeper prospect in the 2012 NFL Draft that has second-round potential. He is our 36th ranked prospect in our latest release of our 2012 NFL Draft Big Board.
Johnson pled not guilty on all the charges following the early Sunday incident. The incident was at Johnson’s apartment and involved Montana QB Gerald Kemp. According to reports, Kemp hit an officer in the chest and was tased. Johnson attempted to intervene and was also tased. Both Kemp and Johnson were taken into police custody until a hearing on Monday. A jury trial is scheduled for February 7, 2012.
